Welcoming Death with Open Arms

Hey, Dan here. I know I may be sort of, kind of late but.... At least I posted. :P Here's my lousy story....

I collapse on the ground, my legs weakened. Wait, please tell me this isn't happening!  Please tell me this is just a dream, a horrid nightmare. Please tell that in a few seconds from now, I'll be awake, safe and sound with dear Vicky to keep me company. Oh God! I pinch myself hardly until my skin starts to swell but no matter how hard I keep pinching myself, I was trapped. Trapped in this cruel, cruel world. I collapse to my knees and grab a pillow from my bed. Why did this have to happen!?!

I sulk into the pillow, releasing all the tears I had been storing all day. I still couldn't believe it! Why did my Best Friend For Life have to disappear like that!?! I should've followed her when she stepped foot over at the busy road. At least we both would have been together over to where she was now. Be it Heaven or Hell, I would have stuck with her through thick and thin!

There was a knock at my door, "Helen, sweetie, come out please,"

I grumble back, my voice sounding fiercer than usual, "Leave me alone, mum. Leave me be,"

"But you're making yourself ill in your room. Please come out, Helen, you need to-"

"Shut up! I don't need you, Mum. All I need is some peace!" I growl back, throwing a vase over at the door.

Didn't she flipping understand the problem with my flipping life!?! My flipping friend died for flipping sake and I'm trying to remember her! Why didn't she flipping understand!?! I began throwing more things in rage at the door. I began grabbing basically anything; my alarm clock, Teddy, tissue boxes and all sorts. I felt like destroying the whole world! All of a sudden, I hear a loud yowl signaling distress and then it being cut off all of sudden.

I stand up, wiping my eyes. My heart throbbing with fear, what was that? I warily step over to the door and gasp in surprise when I saw the chaos I had caused. There on the floor, was Fluffy, my beloved cat with a pool of blood streaming out of his mouth. I collapse on the ground, clearly shocked. Was I only able to cause more trouble? I pick him up and desperately search for his chest to expand or a heartbeat, anything!

Nothing. No flipping anything! I drop him on the ground and begin to sob louder. I'm sorry Vicky, Fluffy, I let you down! I heard another knock on the ground, "Helen, what's wrong? Why are you crying louder all of a sudden!?!"

"Mum, get flipping away from my room!" I grab one of the alarm clocks scattered near Fluffy and throw it hard. I begin throwing a lot more items and then realized the door creak open. And that was the exact moment when I flung a glass cup. The cup landed squarely on my mum's fore head who fell backward. I began running to her as she knocked over an aquarium which crashed into her face. "Mum! Mum!" I run over to my mum's body, shaking her crazily, "Mum, wake up! You can't leave me!"

But as soon as I had touched mum's cold body, I knew that she was dead. But I couldn't flipping face the music. "Mum, come on, wake up and make me feel better, please!" I continued to scream, shaking her more and more.

But nothing happened, she didn't even blink. I close my eyes, more tears stream down my face. This could not be happening! This couldn't! I break down into more tears; first Vicky, then Fluffy and now…! Why did Mum have to leave! I needed her kind and comforting words to make me happy. I needed her warm hug to frighten away the sadness lingering in my soul, "Mum, please!"

When she didn't say a word, I hugged her tight. Even though her face was covered in blood and glass, I didn't mind. She was still beautiful. All of a sudden, I heard a soft, quiet voice, "Helen, Heeelen,"

It was Vicky's voice! I let go of my mum and turn around. Could it be….? I shout, desperate, "Vicky, please tell me you're alive!"

There was silence. I sulk. I knew it was too good to be true. "Helen, don't cry. I'm here for you," it was her voice again. She sounded comforting.

"Vicky, Vicky! I won't cry, I promise just please come back!" I scream, eyes scanning wildly for her long blonde hair or her magical green eyes.

"Hush~ Come with me, Helen," the voice was slightly louder.

I could come with her? My eyes widen. "How, Vicky? I'm desperate! I want to see you, I want to apologize. Please take me with you, Vicky!" I continue to shout.

I can hear a rattling noise downstairs and concerned words being spoken. Those voices outside..... They were my neighbours! They weren't going to stop me, none of them would. Vicky's voice sounded rushed as she explained, "Helen, there is something in your room. Use it…."

I hear something fall with a 'ping' in my room. Drying my tears and smiling, I walk over to my room; heart throbbing with excitement. The people downstairs were still struggling with the door. I grin. They weren't going to stop me. As I step in my room, my eyes fall upon a regular kitchen knife lying innocently on the ground.

Its shine welcomed me. I pick it up and mutter thanks over at Vicky. Finally, all my pain would be over and I could be among my loved ones. I hear the door finally open just as I stab myself over at the heart. Pain shot over to my body like fire but I knew it would end soon enough. And then when I finally felt my body fall limp, I smiled. The pain fluttered away just as my neighbours reach my room.

I saw them gasp in shock and one of them muttered, "Oh Lord. Why is her skin all black?"

I paused, scared for a moment. I felt myself slipping away from my body and immediately, I turned around to see my body, black as though burnt. What was going on? "Helen," I hear Vicky's voice and immediately turn.

There she was, looking up at me. I smile at her, eyes full of tears, "Vicky, you're h-"

Vicky stopped me, "Helen, hush. It's time for you to go down,"

I blink. What did she mean? "Vicky-" I try to say before she tackles me to the ground.

Pain rushed through my body as I crashed down, head first. Vicky held me still while I struggled to my feet. I was confused. What the hell was going on around here? All of a sudden, the floor began to crack under me. I panicked, "Vicky, please let me go,"

Vicky just smiled sinisterly over at me, winking. The cracks began growing and then I began slipping inside. Vicky and I both fell but while I began to scream, Vicky laughed evilly. I hit the ground soon and an immense heat burned my body. I look at Vicky, plain confusion on my face. Vicky gave me a wicked smile as she said, "Welcome to Hell,"
